About

This is a blog of shared, deeply authentic thoughts, memories, quotes and stories.  It is written by a Canadian woman of vintage years who is a keen speaker and writer of the English language, a lover and annihilator of the French language and a flirtatious student of the Spanish language.

Scattered is a reference to the self-diagnosed Attention Deficit Disorder I am living with.  My doctor agrees but has encouraged me to deal with it unmedicated.  I self medicate with cannabis.  It takes my monkey mind down a few notches when I am trying to stay on task.

Leftie describes both my political leanings; I'm a bleeding heart liberal and an awkward left-hander as well.  I am unreasonably non-confrontational and support some socialist practices and policies.  My left-handedness makes me accident prone as does my ADD.

The sign of Libra describes me to a T.  Born in the season of falling, amber leaves and pumpkin pie I am the epitome of balance, fairness and mediation.  I love exercising my creativity although I'm not particularly spectacular at any one craft.  I love the written word.  I am most happy in the midst of nature and in the company of my family; particularly my seven grandchildren.  Thee is the eldest at eight, 2 five year olds, a four year old, a three year old and two just under two years of age.

To my utter delight, after many years of yearning to know, I have recently discovered that my calling in life lies in my ability to mediate and defuse conflict. The answer was too simple for me to discover during my many years of finding myself in the midst of conflict but not part of the spat.  It took years of soul searching to find the the simplicity of practicing what I do best as often as possible is fulfilling my given role on this earth.

So it goes without saying that I am damn good at helping people see other's point of view.  It's my little magic trick.

I'll be writing about what I've learned so far on this journey towards 'the knowing' that I'm closer to finishing than beginning.

That's all; nothing more.
